Start with dinner, not a production
Choose one simple meal everyone can help assemble, or arrange your own takeout. Ask about dietary needs before you shop or order. Split the practical jobs: one person handles the food list, another sets out the meal and two people claim cleanup. Food, groceries and delivery are your own arrangements; this is a game plan, not a catered experience. The Rally House has a kitchen and dining spaces, so keep the menu comfortable and the evening flexible.
Round one: two moments and a magnificent invention
Once everyone is settled, each person offers three short stories: two tiny true moments from a trip and one completely invented adventure. Keep each under 30 seconds. The rest of the table votes for the tall tale, then the storyteller reveals it. Younger players can use one true detail and one made-up detail. Passing is always fine. Keep the stories kind, avoid private information about other people and let anyone change the subject.
Round two: give the day a ridiculous title
Go around once more and pitch a five-word title for your day. "The Afternoon Our Plans Disappeared" is a respectable start. Vote for the title that makes the table laugh hardest. The prize is a 20-second acceptance speech delivered with wildly unnecessary seriousness. No props, purchases or elaborate scorekeeping needed—just your own stories. If the conversation takes off, abandon the rules. That is the point.
Choose a soft landing
Clear the meal together, then pick one easy ending: a movie in the theater, a quiet conversation in the living area or a pause on the patio if conditions suit your group. Move the conversation indoors before quiet hours, 10 p.m.–7 a.m. This plan is for registered guests during their stay; no parties or events. The Rally House has four bedrooms and sleeps up to 10. Check your dates and booking details before planning your Scottsdale dinner in.
