How this site measures visits

Our measurement records. Our own visit and booking-click measurement records contain a random per-tab id, the page path, campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content), the selected opening's dates, the booking destination chosen (direct, Airbnb or Vrbo) and a coarse device type based on screen width. These measurement records do not contain names, emails, phone numbers, IP addresses or location.

ChatGPT Ads (OpenAI). When you click a Book Direct, Airbnb or Vrbo link, the site sends OpenAI's measurement pixel a "booking link click" event with a random event id, to measure whether our ChatGPT ads lead to booking interest. We do not manually add any contact information to that event. OpenAI's pixel may automatically detect and hash supported information for matching, and may collect browser and connection identifiers, as described in OpenAI's conversion measurement article and privacy policy.

Where the pixel runs. As a conservative configuration, this site does not load the OpenAI pixel for visitors whose region appears to be the EEA, UK or Switzerland, or when the region cannot be determined.

Your choices. Browser settings or extensions that block third-party scripts or trackers can prevent the OpenAI pixel from loading. Reservations are handled by OwnerRez, Airbnb or Vrbo under their own privacy policies.
