Pool Party Packing Checklist — The Rally House
What to pack, what to leave at the house, and what to sort before doors open at a Scottsdale DJ pool deck. Built for the pool-party day trip — print it, tick it, and get in without a problem at the door.
Get through the door
Every venue on this list checks ID and bags. These are the items that decide whether the day starts on time.
- Physical government photo ID for every person — no photos of IDs, no expired cards
- One credit card (all six decks are effectively cashless)
- Digital GA ticket or cabana confirmation saved offline, not just in email
- Small clutch or crossbody only — most decks refuse backpacks and large totes
- Cabana host's name and reservation time in your phone notes
- Nothing glass, no outside drinks, no vapes at the venues that ban them
Pool bag
- Swimsuit on under your clothes so you skip the changing room
- Second dry swimsuit left in the car or at the house for the ride home
- Reef-safe sunscreen SPF 50+, plus a stick for face and shoulders
- Sunglasses and a hat or cap that survives a pool deck
- Quick-dry towel (most resorts provide them; Old Town dayclubs often do not)
- Slides or sandals — decking hits 140°F in July
- Phone in a waterproof pouch, plus a small power bank
- Hair tie, comb, and a travel deodorant for the post-deck reset
Dress code
Maya and the W turn people away for this. Pack for resort wear, not for the gym.
- Men: linen or resort shirt, swim trunks — not athletic shorts, not tank tops at Maya
- Women: swim plus a cover-up, dress, or resort set
- Nothing with team logos, cut-offs, or beachwear that reads athletic
- One clean outfit set aside at the house for Old Town dinner afterward
Heat and hydration
March through October the deck is the hottest place you'll be all trip. This section is the difference between a long day and a short one.
- Insulated water bottle filled before you leave (refill at the venue)
- Electrolyte packets — one per person, in the bag not the car
- Eat a real breakfast at the house before the rideshare
- Aloe gel and lip balm with SPF for the ride home
- Ibuprofen and antacids in the bag, not back at the house
- A shade plan: cabana, west rail, or an out time before the 3 p.m. peak heat
Leave at the house
- Car keys — nobody drives home from a dayclub
- Anything glass, any outside alcohol, and any cooler
- Passports, extra cards, jewelry, and watches you'd hate to lose
- Full-size bags, beach umbrellas, and portable speakers
Before the day
- Buy general admission online — every venue charges more at the door
- Book the cabana by phone and confirm the check-in time it will be released at
- Check the DJ calendar: event weekends change price, hours, and age rules
- Save The Rally House as a rideshare address in every phone: 14241 N 54th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
- Agree the out time before the first drink — surge pricing after 5 p.m. is brutal
- Assign one person to hold the tab and one to hold the group chat
- Download the pool-party day-trip PDF and share it with the group
Back at the house
- Set out towels and water on the patio before you leave in the morning
- Ice in the freezer and something on the grill for the 5:30 p.m. return
- Pool heater on so the backyard is the after-party
- Phone chargers staged in the main rooms — everyone comes back at 8%
